According to his agent, Miloš Krasić is interested in a move to Manchester United and our club are currently in a good position to sign him, behind Bayern Munich.

Krasić is a 25-year-old Serbian winger who currently plays CSKA Moscow and a move to United would certainly keep Nemanja Vidic happy.

“It is true that Milos is wanted by a number of the biggest clubs in Europe. At the moment Bayern are the first choice with United in second place,” his agent told Goal.com “The team that has expressed the strongest interest is Bayern Munich. Manchester United have also been interested throughout the season and the player dreams of a move to such a great club. In January, he turned down Manchester City as he told me he wanted to move to a side of greater tradition and United are just that sort of club.”

£40m-plus to spend at Manchester United but Sir Alex Ferguson can’t break bank to wage war

Benzema: asked United for 'stupid money'

Manchester United's attempts to regain the Barclays Premier League title from Chelsea will not tempt the deposed champions to break their wage structure, it emerged last night.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been told by the club's owners he can spend as much as he thinks is appropriate on transfer fees this summer but has been warned that the club will not pay inflated wages.

Aware that Chelsea and, in particular, neighbours Manchester City are happy to throw huge salaries at the world's best players, United have taken an in-depth look at their own policy.

It is understood that although United are aware it could cost them players, as it did when Karim Benzema moved to Real Madrid from Lyon last summer, Ferguson, chief executive David Gill and the Glazer family will stick to the methods they believe have contributed to their success over the years.

Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs are among United's top earners with wages in excess of £100,000 a week. That figure is likely to be exceeded when Wayne Rooney renegotiates his contract at the end of the summer.

However, these figures pale in comparison with Emmanuel Adebayor's £190,000 a week at City and the £150,000 Chelsea pay John Terry and Frank Lampard. City also offered Chelsea skipper Terry more than £200,000 a week to join them last summer.

According to Old Trafford sources, the club lost Benzema to Madrid last summer when the France striker demanded 'stupid money', even though United had agreed a £30million transfer fee with Lyon.

This could happen again this summer but United remain sanguine and confident that a policy aimed at keeping the club's dressing room strong will not backfire.

New deal: Wayne Rooney will renegotiate his United contract this summer

With much attention still being directed at the stewardship of the Glazer family, sceptical United fans will no doubt feel the Glazers' financial restrictions are stopping the club from being competitive in the transfer market.

Nevertheless, the owners' message is that the manager will be given the £40m that remains unspent following last summer's £80m sale of Cristiano Ronaldo and more if he wants it.

So far, the feeling is that Ferguson, rightly or wrongly, will not make stellar signings as he looks to make up ground on Chelsea. Having already recruited Fulham defender Chris Smalling and Mexican striker Javier Hernandez since Christmas, United have now added six players - Michael Owen, Gabriel Obertan, Mame Biram Diouf and Antonio Valencia were brought in last summer - since Ronaldo was sold a year ago.

On his way: Fulham's Chris Smalling (left) will join United in the next few weeks

Ferguson has suggested that two more will arrive in the coming weeks, one of whom is sure to be a goalkeeper, but it appears that United fans keen for a really big arrival may have to wait a while longer.

Yesterday the Red Knights group currently looking to put together a £1.2billion buy-out package released a statement saying they will not attempt to pay over the odds for the club.

This came on the back of leaks from the Glazer camp last week that the family had already turned down £1.5bn from a consortium in the Far East.

A spokesman for the Red Knights group said last night: 'We have had productive conversations with potential investors in recent weeks which have reinforced our belief that it is wrong to offer above fair value, particularly given the urgent need for the club to reduce debt; and that fair value is likely to be reducing over time given the headwinds facing the game of football. Accordingly, we will continue to build support in a measured way and will give a further update in due course.'

It is understood that the Glazers remain determined not to sell United and it was even suggested last night that they would be happy to receive a Red Knights offer just so that they could turn it down.

Jack Rodwell plays key role in Sir Alex Ferguson’s plans for a British future | Premier League - Times Online

May 15, 2010 - Oliver Kay

Manchester United are determined to beat Chelsea to the signature of Jack Rodwell, the Everton midfield player, in the next stage of Sir Alex Ferguson’s attempt to establish a nucleus of young British players who can represent the club’s long-term future.

United have already secured a £10 million deal to sign Chris Smalling from Fulham and are eager to proceed with a bid for Rodwell, his England Under-21 team-mate, as part of Ferguson’s commitment to ensure that a core of British players remains after Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs have retired.

James Milner, the Aston Villa and England midfield player, is another potential target, even though United fear it will be extremely difficult to persuade the Midlands club to sell.

Although Neville, Scholes and Giggs are signed up to play on for one more season, Ferguson and his coaching staff have discussed the need to preserve a British nucleus as the club look to move forward.

Rodwell, 19, is a player Ferguson has admired since before he broke into Everton’s first team. The teenager came through the Merseyside club’s youth ranks as a central defender, but has excelled in the centre of midfield, scoring Everton’s third goal in their 3-1 victory over United in February.

Everton are eager to persuade Rodwell to a sign a new contract, but United’s interest is strong and with Chelsea and Manchester City also admirers, Ferguson is eager to ensure his club do not lose out if the player becomes available. Chelsea had a £14 million bid for Rodwell rejected last year.

Ferguson’s desire for young British talent means that United will insist on being kept informed of any developments surrounding Milner, who is emerging as a key player in Fabio Capello’s plans for England’s World Cup campaign. It is unclear at this stage whether Ferguson will be tempted to move to sign Joe Cole on a free transfer if the 28-year-old’s contract negotiations with Chelsea break down. Ferguson has long been an admirer of Cole, but the club’s stated transfer policy is to focus on young talent, even if such a deal could, like the signing of Michael Owen last summer, be classed as “low risk”.

The United manager’s plans in attack are also unclear, despite a watching interest in Edin Dzeko, the Wolfsburg forward, and Karim Benzema, who is out of favour at Real Madrid. Dimitar Berbatov has attracted tentative interest from Bursaspor, who are second in the Turkish league, but there is no expectation at Old Trafford that the former Bulgaria forward will be soldsold.

Hart l'anno prossimo si sa cosa farà?
Rimane al City come riserva di Given, viene ceduto di nuovo in prestito (Immagino non al Birmingham se prende Foster), lo cedono definitivamente (Magari all'Arsenal) o vendono l'irlandese?

SUAREZ ADDED TO FERGIE'S LIST OF TARGETS
Ajax goal-machine appeals to Fergie

SUAREZ: Can't stop scoring for Ajax

By Neil Ashton, 15/05/2010
SIR ALEX FERGUSON has added Ajax sensation Luis Suarez to his shortlist of strikers.

The Uruguay ace scored 35 goals in 33 league games for Martin Jol's side last season.

Manchester United have watched him six times in recent months and are now considering a £20million bid.

Boss Ferguson is desperate to find a strike partner for Wayne Rooney and Suarez is one of his options.

He signed for Ajax three years ago and his goalscoring record is the focus of a number of top European clubs.

United are also interested in Real Madrid flop Karim Benzema but Suarez is a cheaper option.

The Uruguay striker, who plays for his country alongside former United forward Diego Forlan, will get the chance to impress again next month.

He has been picked for Uruguay's World Cup squad and will showcase his talents against South Africa, France and Mexico.
